I already found the Power item and set it to the appropriate way (never etc).
And it changes nothing.
But now I have found thanks to a reporting utility I have installed into crontab
@boot that the system reboots every 6 minutes unless someone is logged in to the
desktop on the physical machine!
I have no idea why this is happening and I don't know how to find out either.
But it does not happen if I have logged on to any of tyhe two desktops on the
bare metal. PuTTY login via the network or VNC login to the GUI does not count
it seems like.
Every time it reboots I get about 1360-1400 lines of logging into syslog, which
cannot be filtered by grep eithar. :(
Very hard to find the reason, but it seems regular inasmuch as the reporting log
has an interval of 6:23 between invocations (the 23 seconds vary between 23 and
24 seconds)
