firefox cannot connect to any website, other browsers can?

Same happened to me this morning on 2 different machines.
Internet connection was up. But Firefox did not update the pages.
On the first machine, I did restart Firefox and everything was back to normal.
Same thing on the second machine. After restarting Firefox, Firefox worked again.
