Ubuntu 20.04.3 server can Apache be made to render md documents like on GitHub?

I'm not sure I'd find this useful. If I'm serving my own .md files, I'm
happy to have them rendered in the browser.

Valid point, but if you're going to start modifying your Apache with
third-party contributions for which there is no supported Apache
package, you're mostly on your own.

I don't see that this is needed if the plugin renders it.

github is a closed book to me, I'm afraid. You'll have to ask someone
who understand what they are asking for.
