I normally run freebsd, so was going to install that as the primary os.
rEFInd was recommended to me; I've never needed a multiboot environment and
don't have a strong opinion one way or the other as long as it consistently
works. However, I decided to install Ubuntu as the primary os and did that
before installing any boot loader. I subsequently tried to install rEFInd
thinking I might need to put a windoze on it, but hoping to avoid it.

Verify checksums
