Sorry but I don't see the difference in meaning implied by the
difference in wording.

My point was that DST was not in operation when the boot took place, so
the time recorded did not involve DST. And the time now is also not in
DST so the current time does not involve DST. So there's no
DST-provoked discrepancy between the readings.
