Easy way:
First, run 'uname -r' to verify your working kernel version.
Then, run 'sudo update-grub' to find the version number of the unwanted
kernel.
Finally, install synaptic and run it. Type the exact kernel-version and
mark it for complete removal. Apply. No need to update grub afterwards.
