No, and I'm not going to until I've explored simpler and less risky
options.

The existing hardware set-up worked fine with xubuntu 19.10, 20.04,
20.10, 21.04 and 21.10.  It's only installing 22.04 that has changed
*something* that means the NVME SSD doesn't resume correctly.
