Query about problem with updating software

Hello.

I am running UbuntuMATE 20.10 on this computer.

In running the combined update.upgrade command, as shown below, whilst I
understand that no updates/upgrades are available for the 20.10 OS
itself, provision is made for updating additional, non-Ubuntu repository
software, as shown below, but, the combined command will not update the
software; I have to use the GUI Software Updater application, instead,
to update the software packages that can be updated; for example, at
present, the Software Updater shows that an update is available for Pale
Moon, but, the combined update/upgrade command below, will not do it,
but,. I am confident that the Software Updater will do it, if I select
the "Update now" option.

Below, is the combined update/upgrade command, with the response.

The repository that includes the name "stevenpusser" in the path, is the
repository for Pale Moon. The ubuntuzilla repository is for SeaMonkey,
and (of course) the vivaldi repository is for Vivaldi.

Now, the combined update/upgrade command, will not update these three
web browsers, but, the Software Updater will update them, as updates
become available.

The question is, why will the update/upgrade command, as it is, not
update those three packages, when the Software Updater GUI application,
will update them, when engaged to do it?

Thank you in anticipation.
