Gnome session cannot run snap apps - ? - with NFS mounted home dirs

Thanks for that.
So because my nfs-mounted home dirs are in /home.people & 
it's 'autofs' which does the mounting, now I did add that 
dir to:
/etc/apparmor.d/tunables/home.d/site.local
but also alternatively, added manually when:
-> $ dpkg-reconfigure apparmor
asked (then I see change ends up in 
'/etc/apparmor.d/tunables/home.d/ubuntu'
but to no avail, still:
'.. cannot open path of the current working directory: 
Permission denied ..'

And with:
-> $ apparmor_parser -p ....
I see:
@{HOME}=@{HOMEDIRS}/*/ /root/
@{HOMEDIRS}=/home/
@{HOMEDIRS}+=/home.people/
...

So... hmm. now even more puzzling?
