When I try to install using the HP Device Manager
--> Network /Ethernet /Wireless network
I get a pop up with the message below , furthermore
http://hplipopensource.com/node/374 --> that link gives 404.
HPLIP cannot detect printers in your network.
This may be due to existing firewall settings blocking the required ports.
When you are in a trusted network environment, you may open the ports for
network services like mdns and slp in the firewall. For detailed steps
follow the link. http://hplipopensource.com/node/374
hp-uiscan
"No device connected"
*Ubuntu Menu --> scan --> XSane --> xsane 0.999 device selection, ** a
ubuntu utility does work though.*
*I connected the printer using the Ubuntu printers utility which does
detect the printer *
*rather than *the HP Device Manager which doesn't.
*Using the android phone HP Smart App *
*both printer and scanner works fine.*
