Laptop running hot - solved

That's why I've always tethered my phone to a USB port and it hasn't 
been a problem until now. Perhaps the poor signal strength was making 
the system work harder and so caused more heat to be generated. I think 
I have a secure password.

I've downloaded, and viewed a few YouTube videos during the past four 
hours and I'm surprised how much faster the Internet connection is and 
there is far less heat. The improved Internet speed could be due to now 
being able to site my phone in a better location and not be restricted 
by the length of the USB cable.

I was considering a Night Hawk because I'll be here for another couple 
of months but I think I'll hold off on that expensive purchase.

Different USB ports don't seem to make a difference although the one 
that I was using allows me to position the phone  at the highest point. 
I don't have access to another phone or laptop.

I'm happy with the Internet connection speed now so the problem has been 
solved and I thank everyone for their suggestions.
