My power supply died last Monday night and I finally replaced it - no
damage to the machine or its data, of course. One of the reasons I
love Linux.

I noticed today that the ffmpeg processing seems to be back up to speed.

Is tehre a possible relationship here I'm not aware of?

There was a lot of whining when the disks got busy with the old power
supply that is also now gone. Hence my suspicions.

For the record, that old power supply did well for me - almost 11
solid years of near-continuous running - only turned off when I moved,
5 times in the last 5 years. Great piecec of machinery.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Mark
