Editing grub boot menu, how to save?

Well there *has* been a flurry of activity here caused by *me* after I bought a
new Lenovo PC to replace the Acer eMachine 11 years old hardware my important
Linux server has been running on.
And I am causing more noise by being overly cautious before I actually run any
commands I find in order not to bring down my system....

I will not pursue the grub menu edit any longer.
