Gosh, yes.

TBH I haven't set up a proxy server since the first year or two of
this century, and while roughly 1996-2002 or so, I did install a lot
of Linux firewalls, since hardware ones got cheap and interchangeable.

SOCKS was old even then. It may not so much be that `tsocks` hasn't
been maintained, but that nobody is using SOCKS proxies any more?
