Does installing desktop on Ubuntu Server turn it into the desktop version?

I don't use lvm, however, it's more or less like this

pv - a "physical volume" is a "partition" on the drive
vg - a "volume group" is a pool of one or more "physical volume"s
lv - volume groups become one or more "logical volume"s for the data

Maybe gparted shows the pv size and df the lv size.
