virt-manager on 20.04

I am trying to get a VM running on 20.04 - guest being 20.04 also.
It seems like its running really slow - I have 8 CPU and 16G ram - for the
guest - still slow.
when I installed virt-manager - I did not have the BIOS setting set for
hardware VM. it is now
but still slow.

lsmod | grep kvm shows it loaded and running .

What might I look at ?
