disk encryption for Ubuntu 20 LTS

I am very new to *nix:    I bought a laptop with pre-installed
Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS  focal
longer ago, but it's only been 3 days since I did more than
just booting it and making sure it could do some basic things.

I am now trying to set up encryption for it.

Does

also work for    Ubuntu 20 LTS  ?

Is there some  simpler or otherwise better
way for    Ubuntu 20 LTS  ?
