It has been there as long as I can remember, many years. Open
Settings and if you are using a wired connection then select Network,
if WiFi then select W-Fi. Then select the cog alongside the
connection you are using. You should then see a dialog with tabs
Detail, Identity, IPv4, IPV6 and Security.
You should not mess with the underlying files such as resolved.conf.
Many of those are no longer used and for the ones that are if you
change them behind Network Managers back things can go wrong. If you
don't want to use the GUI then use nmcli.
