Do you mean it takes five seconds to come back with the response
PING vwysk.now-dns.net (IP) 56(84) bytes of data.

It should never take that long.  If you look at the ip connection
settings what is it showing for the DNS server?   It might be worth
trying 8.8.8.8 there.
