this is an ubuntu mailing list where most people will not actually run
a mint system or know anything about these specifics. you should really
ask these questions in a mint forum or mailing list instead ... 

if someone here helps you it is most likely they will help out along
known ubuntu defaults and in the end you will end up with a mix of an
ubuntu and mint system on your disk which will just get you into more
trouble ...
