OK, so this means he _has_ an old computer. Fine. So what OS is the
old computer running?

It is probably easier to move the entire Firefox profile from old
computer to new -- so long as both are running Linux. In fact, move
his entire home directory.

I have not done anything like this, but I use Firefox Sync to store
all my credentials on Mozilla's servers and it syncs them from PC to
PC on its own.
