Replacements for Firefox and Thurderbird; re search engines from this discussion

i'm not a sophisticated tech person & i use Firefox over Chrome/Chromium, i've been happier with it. Whether they are part of the information sucking ecosystem i don't know.i don't use a mail app, i use only proton mail, most secure email available in my humble opinion.

Ralf, try duckduck.go search. It was created by a non-profit in southeaster Pennsylvania here in the US. They don't collect data on you & you can even use some google services like google maps through them using ! commands. i've been very happy with it & i haven't used google search in years now.
