Oh come on!

Get a medium-sized USB key. Put Ventoy on it.

I found I had to use the Windows installer for Ventoy -- it didn't
work on Linux.

Then stick all the ISOs on there. Vanilla and server. 12.04, 14.04,
16.04, 18.04, 20.04.

Then you can just try each one in turn and see if it can mount your LVM.

Half an hour's preparation, 5min each to try them.
