Ubuntu / Gnome software installer

Hi,

I have Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Gnome 3.36.8 This is a new laptop bought last year which had 18.04 pre-installed, which I upgraded in the autumn. I'm the only user, and so have only one user account.

My software installer shows as Ubuntu Software rather than Gnome, has the generic blue diamond icon rather than the normal icon, and has no software listed in any of the categories.

I only switched back from Unity to Gnome with this machine, so I'm not sure if this is normal - but I can't help thinking something is missing!
