I don't understand the content of the posted link. I successfully build
a lot of kernel packages for different distros, among them myriads of
Debian and Ubuntu kernel packages.
I already don't understand how you started it.
Did you type "++ realpath workdir" in your login shell bash, csh, zsh,
dash or else? Just a rhetorical question ;).
If you want help with building the packages by the way you chose to do
it, please describe the details of what you have done so far.
Your first step probably wasn't typing "++ realpath workdir" and
pushing enter ;).
