What are you running for a server on the CentOS box?  I just tried 
connecting from my Xubuntu 21.04 box to my RaspberryPi running RealVNC 
with vinagre and it won't connect.  You could try downloading the 
RealVNC client, maybe it will work for you.

I don't have anything running X11VNC here or I would try that for you.
