Okay - in trying to install UbuntuMATE 21.04 on my Acer Aspire 5750G
(i5 with 16GB RAM and nVIDIA Optimus), I get, in the Something Else
procedure, which involves creating new partitions for / and for /home
, the error message;
"
Go back to the menu and resume partitioning? as superuser)
No EFI System Partition was found. This system will likely not be able
to boot successfully, and the installation process may fail.
Please go back and add an EFI System Partition, or continue at your own risk.

"
So, the bug is, evidently, present in the release version.
