I think he means he runs the server on his laptop, but cannot connect
to it locally, neither with the client software nor with telnet.
Gilles, if netstat -rn does not show something listening on 5900, then
*nothing is listening on 5900*. It is a total waste of time to try to
connect to it. You need to find out why RealVNC is not providing local
service.
