RealVNC server not connecting locally after update from 20.10 to 21.04

No VMs involved. :) On my Ubuntu laptop I run RealVNC in service mode.
On that same laptop I can't run vnc-viewer localhost:5900 or telnet
localhost 5900

But I can connect to it using ReaVNC's cloud services.

And on the app's options, I have enabled local service on port 5900. In
fact it was working that way on Ubuntu 20.10... it just stopped after
upgrading to 21.04... no other parameters changed.
