Where does umask get set at system startup? Mine seems to have changed to 0002 recently

Many thanks for the link. It's interesting that for "useradd" to
behave like "adduser", both "HOME_MODE 750" and "UMASK 027" must be
set. The manpage can be understood to imply that this is unintended
because "HOME_MODE" is defined as "The mode for new home directories.
If not specified, the UMASK is used to create the mode."
