How do I purge MySQL completely, so that it's not even a command.  I ran
purge on:

sudo apt-get purge mysql-client mysql-common mysql-server mysql-client-core

I still get:

nicholas $
nicholas $ mysql
ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket
'/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)
nicholas $
nicholas $ mysql -uroot -p
Enter password:
ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket
'/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)
nicholas $

How do remove any remnants?  I would've only installed the above packages.

thanks,

Nick
