Should I split a big (8TB) backup disk into more than one partition, or not?

Good to know about storage capacities. Given that I'll probably stick
to 8TB or less.

In this case I wasn't compressing the disk, but using handbrake-cli to
compress the individual files, which could sometimes be 40GB or more
each file. I used the 1080p preset, which looks decent on my 1080p
display.

And this is the reason why I was hoping larger drives would push the
price of the 8TB drives down a bit, it would be nice to be able to
stick 4 x 8TB drives in a RAID (5/10) array.

One thing I found with RAID was NOT to do RAID10 if you plan on adding
drives later and don't want to back up the data elsewhere then
restore, at least not with certain controllers (9260-8i I'm looking at
you).
