Splendid! The 100% success record of sane-airscan is maintained. Just to
make it clear: you have not installed some fly-by-night software. Alex
Pevzner is committed to sane-airscan. It is in Debian and will soon be
in Ubuntu.

Ok. Enabled. There is probably something I am misunderstanding but, as
you say, lets' park it.

I wonder whether the pixma backend identifies the scanner correctly? We
may never know.

sane-airscan says you have a WSD device. See

Any problems with sane-airscan should be pushed to the vey responsive
upstream.
