Hi Karl,

The Jitsi-team  has spent years on developing the desktop-client, and even produced directly installable packages for Ubuntu,
But since the birth of Jitsi-meet, all attention and man-power seems to be heading that way, and they only produce tar-balls and expect the package builders from the distro's to pick it up.
Some did (for those single click installable images reside on the Online Build Servers) , Ubuntu missed that apparently.

Having done a bit more looking I would say that the Jitsi Desktop stuff is just not ready for prime time. The installation instructions are way too complex for that. Good for someone who knows what they are doing, but not the rest of us, an not for this type of program.

When I can install it with apt, I'll try it again.
