Cannot encrypt archive?

No! It is official. Ubuntu 20.04 officially SUX!
When I try to create the archive after putting all the necessary details
in, it opens a new window displaying an empty archive. It doesn't save the
archive - just opens a new window. When I try again to select the files I
need, the file selection window that opens now doesn't display hidden files.
Who engineered this screwup?
