Not sure whether your mobile is attached va a USB cable and appears as
a modem to your laptop, or whether you run your mobile as a hotspot
(i.e., access point) and attach your laptop to it via wifi. These days
"tether" could mean either.
Either way, no problem. The second case is easiest. Set the MikoTik up
as a station instead of an access point and attach it to your mobile
phone, connect your laptop via ethernet to the MikroTik, tap the
Ethernet port. All traffic in and out will be copied to the tap
interface.
The USB way just needs a MikroTik with a USB port. Attach the phone to
the MiktoTik via USB, attach the laptop to the MikroTik via Ethernet,
tap the Ethernet port. All traffic in and out will be copied to the tap
interface.
Again, MikroTik is just an example, and cheap enough for hobbyist use.
Interested in what daemon you are investigating...
