weird problem with lsusb trying to diagnose audio/video problem and question about Trump's response to MN riots lol

I'm playing with a camera trying to capture images with "motion" and "uvccapture" 
and then get audio with "arecord." I have had a recurring problem setting the audio
parameters - it seems to work until after a video capture. Now using uvccapture subsequent
audio capture fails  almost always until I unplug the camera and plug it back in. 
Was not sure if there something obvious to look for with lsof.
Below is the failure output . Then something really odd with "lsusb -t" Any ideas
there? "lsusb -t" looks like an unexpected space somewhere but then it hangs and
needs ctrl-C to return. How to debug that?
