If you download from Linux, it will offer you a raw ISO.
If you download from Windows, it will try to upgrade or make media for you.
Your choice.

I don't know if the T420 has a Windows key in the firmware, but if it
does, you can view it from Linux:
sudo strings /sys/firmware/acpi/tables/MSDM

If this doesn't work, try Produkey, under Windows obviously.
If you download an ISO from Linux, you can try it in VirtualBox.
Beware, though, that if you activate your VM with that key, it might
be reluctant to activate a copy on bare metal _as well_.
