I am disappointed with snaps, but I really am quite sympathetic with the
argument for putting Chromium in a snap. If it saves any developer effort
(with something that takes a lot of ongoing maintenance like a browser)
it's probably worth doing something.

I had fewer issues with Flatpaks, but even those were poor performers on
low-resource systems.

Folks who have been updating Ubuntu every six months (non LTS) have
probably been running more and more snaps for awhile. The software center
in 19.10 "Eoan" DOES at least SHOW when items are in a snap, and Flatpak
integration works there so I presume at least that part will get fixed in
the LTS version.
