The script [1] will always install the latest version, it is
maintained by the node-red team.  There are problems with using the
snap with something like node-red as often one needs access to bits of
hardware (USB serial ports for example) which can be an issue when
using the snap.  There are regular questions on the node red forum [2]
from users having such problems.
