*Sigh*
This is a very Linux-community sort of thread, you folks know that, right?
Question: "I need to do X. It has 2 stages, X1 & X2. Can anyone help with X2?"
Answers:
"Here's how to do X1."
"Here's another way to do X1!"
"Here's how I do X1."
"You shouldn't do X2."
"I don't like X2."
"Don't do X2, here is a totally different way to do Z4 instead."
I'd laugh if it wasn't rather depressing.
As I said, _I have a corporate account which gives me an MS Onedrive._
*I am not a corporation.* I am a private individual. This means that I
do not own the account. It is not a paid personal account; it is a
CORPORATE ACCOUNT.
I do not control it. I do not control the buying decisions of my
employers. I may or may not agree with the choice of provider, or the
risks, or whether this is a desirable way of backing up.
Backups on a suboptimal medium are better than no backups, yes? Are we
agreed on that?
But that is not the question I am asking.
I do not have a choice here.
I want to backup my computer, and the only tool I have with the space
for all of my data -- currently in the region of ½-¾ of a terabyte --
is an MS Onedrive.
I have a network home directory. I have 2, in fact. One holds 20 MB
and the other is in a different country so less than ideal.
Don't recommend alternatives. Don't tell me it's not the perfect
choice. Don't tell me to pay someone else. None of these are options I
have right now.
What I'm asking is, has anyone backed up their Linux computer to
OneDrive, and if so, how did you do it?
