I use LibreOffice regularly and recommend it. I've even deployed it in
production on customer sites.

I use LibreOffice Calc in preference to Excel.

But LibreOffice Writer does not have the single killer feature that I
need. Nor does any other Linux wordprocessor, suite or standalone app.
The only thing that does is Kingsoft WPS Office, which isn't FOSS and
has the horrible Ribbon UI in recent versions. It has a very clunky
outliner. Sadly the versions old enough to have menu bars have an
outliner so clunky it's unusable.
