ASUS AC1200 compatibility

Can anyone tell me if the ASUS AC1200 USB-AC53-Nano is compatible with Ubuntu?

ASUS says no, but the installation disc has a whole linux folde with a
not easy to read or follow installation shell script.

I wonder if I should bother trying to use it or just buy one that is
explicitly Linux-compatible, if I can find one.

I have been using an old Patriot USB drive that only does 2GHz, but it
has been failing almost every time I plug any other USB device in,
like my travel flash drive.

lsusb shows this:

Bus 003 Device 048: ID 0bda:8172 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8191SU
802.11n WLAN Adapter

Thanks.
Mark
