First of all, that's a matter of opinion and one I don't agree with,
but that should go into another thread if it gets discussed.

Second of all, most help pages and most helpful individuals give
command-line advice rather than GUI steps or advice. In addition, most
people who give command-line advice don't explain the commands or
offer links or suggestions on how a user can look up what the
commands do.

Since commands are likely all most users will see, the suggestion of
revisiting the naming conventions for some of the apt and apt-get
commands would at least prevent the repeated need for assistance such
users often require when such commands are suggested.

Last, but not least, many of the posts from people with concerns
about unintentionally upgrading to a new operating system aren't from
new users.

Those apt and apt-get command-line options are just awkwardly named,
so they become the culprits in an ongoing issue for users. This isn't
a criticism. It's just an observation.
