At least not without editing the repository sources list.

It could be confusing. We explain it today and after a few years users
forget it. It's vital to use a tool such as 'apt' on a regular basis
and to stay informed a little bit about progresses or regresses of
FLOSS, IOW everything that comes from Linux related upstream and even
some software from BSD related upstream, as well as at least what's
going on with Ubuntu, while it doesn't harm to lurk what happens to
other distros. It's also wise having one's eye on what's going on with
hardware vendor's Linux support.
