Folks,

I have a simple yes/no question about the unattended-upgrades package.

As I want to see exactly what is being downloaded to my system, I'd like 
to remove the unattended-upgrades package. It is designated 'optional.'

I've tried other ways of disabling it, to no avail. Furthermore, when it 
is upgraded I get into, from my prospective, an overly involved 
configuration file issue.


The question.

If I remove it, will I be notified about the security upgrades it used 
to install?
