It isn't standard behaviour as the other user on the same machine does
not have a problem, nor is it a problem on another two similar
machines.  There is something in this users settings that is causing a
massive leak.  We are not talking about slow dribble here but a
veritable flood.  16GB/day with the machine sitting doing nothing
other than ticking over.  No UI interaction.
