I see now why it struck me so oddly. I've only ever run linux zfs on
VBox vms so it makes sense there would be serious sameness in first
part of disk IDs.

I've installed and used linuxes on hardware but that was a while back.
The days when where `zfs' was concerned I ran openindiana, an actual
solaris OS.
