External touchpad for Ubuntu?

Thanks Colin. I'm trying to find an option that means I stay away from
writing scripts and configuring keyboard shortcuts, but perhaps I am
beginning to come round to your suggestion.

I would love Ubuntu to have had a shortcut configured but my wish has gone
unanswered these past years and I'm still looking for an option that keeps
me away from doing what I'm sure you think is bleedingly obvious.
