Recommendation for a scanner?

Sane is insane. Please allow me to recommend VueScan.  They support every
machine you can name.
Support is excellent, and have been using it for  more than years.
I use it with a plain printer/scanner/toaster  from Epson (does not meet
your criteria), HP (does)
and several Nikon film scanners..  All working exceptionally well.
